iPod Safety: How to Take Care of Your iPod

For your iPod safety, know how to take care of your iPod – from the iPod unit to the earphones to its battery!

Because you use your iPod everyday, it becomes prone to damage, dirt, and even loss. Although your iPod has become a big part of your daily routine, it is still necessary to take care of your iPod so as to prolong its usage and life.

You wouldn’t want to buy a new iPod from the Apple store every time your old one gets damaged, would you? So for your iPod safety and protection, here is an iPod guide on how to take care of your iPod:
  1. Buy a protective for your iPod. For best protection, choose a rubber casing that fits snugly to your digital music device. This would not only prevent dirt from accumulating on your iPod, but would serve as a shock protector as well, in case you accidentally drop it.
  2. If you are not comfortable keeping your iPod inside your bag or pocket, buy an iPod case that has a clip on it, so you can simply attach it on your shirt or pants. Make sure, however, that you clip it onto yourself fittingly and securely to avoid any damage.
  3. To avoid scratches on the screen, make sure to cover it with a screen protector.
  4. Do not place or store your iPod in an area that is too cold or too hot. Keep it in a safe place that is under normal room temperature.
  5. Avoid getting your iPod wet. It is best not to bring it inside bathrooms or keep it with you when you go swimming.
  6. Keep your iPod away from children as they might take it as a toy and play with it.
  7. When you iPod catches dirt, simply wipe it off with a small, clean piece of cloth that is partially moist. Do not use any strong chemical such as alcohol, acetone, or the likes as they may destroy the coating and color of your iPod.
  8. When storing your iPod, make sure that nothing heavy or sharp hits it. When you keep it inside your bag, for example, place it in a separate pocket instead of mixing it along with all your other stuffs.
  9. When storing the earphones of your iPod, do not roll its cord too tightly as this may damage the quality of the sound it produces.
  10. Avoid overcharging the battery of your iPod to prolong its battery life.
While the cost of iPods nowadays is getting more and more affordable, it doesn’t mean that you can simply neglect handling your iPod, thinking that you can easily replace it with a new model. It is still best to take care of your iPod and make it last as long as you can so you can save not only money and time, but effort, as well, in going through the hassles of going to an Apple store and buying a new iPod model.

iPod Guide: Your Guide to iPods

Buying an iPod but you don't know what to consider? Know the different types of iPod and the essential things to consider when buying an iPod.

Designed and manufactured by Apple Inc., iPod is a portable digital music player that was initially launched on October 23, 2001. It has then become popularly used and appreciated throughout the world, earning a phenomenal place in pop culture.

From a simple MP3 player, iPod models now are continuously being restructured and innovated to offer more entertainment to users. iPods are generally easy to use and are created with Apple’s breakthrough designs.

Types of iPods

1. iPod Shuffle. iPod shuffle is the smallest (and most affordable) member of the iPod family. It is easy to use, comes in various colors, and is available in 1 and 2 GB of memory.

2. iPod Nano. Bigger than the iPod Shuffle, the iPod Nano comes is a slim, sleek, and lightweight design that is easy to fit in the pockets. Available in a wide range of memory, the iPod Nano can contain up to 4000 songs. And not only that; photos, videos, and games can also be stored on it.

3. iPod Classic. The iPod family keeps getting better! The iPod Classic is designed to store up to 30,000 songs or 150-hour worth of video files! Like the Nano model, it can also hold photos, videos, and games, including calendar schedule and contact list.

4. iPod Touch. The most innovative of them all, iPod Touch is designed with a groundbreaking technology that makes it a perfect device for listening to songs, watching video files, and playing games. The iPod Touch is so-called because it uses the Multi-Touch system that doesn’t require the use of keypads anymore. It is also built with a wireless technology that lets user connect to a Wi-Fi network and browse the web effortlessly!

Choosing and Buying an iPod

If you plan to buy an iPod, these are the things that you should consider:

Memory Size. For greater number of songs, videos, and photos that you can store up in your iPod, choose one that has a bigger memory. However, remember that the larger the memory capability, the more expensive it gets when it comes to buying an iPod.

Color. iPods usually come in different colors. Popular colors of iPods include black, white, silver, and green and red for some models. Choose an iPod with a color that would match your taste and personality. Black and silver show elegance, while white, green, and red display fashion.
Accessories. Don’t forget to equip your iPod with the right accessories it needs, such as screen protector and casing. These iPod accessories are important for protection against shock and dirt. For maximum shield, choose a rubber casing over a plastic one for your iPod.

Where to Buy an iPod

iPods are available in any Apple Store and Apple Retail Store within your area. You may want to check out your local directory or the Internet to know the nearest Apple store in your neighborhood.
