How to Take Care of Your LCD TV: Making Your LCD TV Last a Lifetime

Your LCD TV needs your care and attention. Learn how to properly take care of your LCD TV and make it last a lifetime!

Learn how to take care of your LCD TV! Just like any other electronic devices or gadgets you have, the LCD TV requires proper care and handling from its owner so it can last not only a couple of years, but a lifetime, if possible.

Below are some guidelines on how to take care of your LCD TV and make it last a lifetime!
  1. Read the manual of your LCD TV first before installing it.
  2. Use your LCD TV at room temperature to maintain maximum performance. Exposing the product at very high or very low temperature and humidity may seriously affect the device.
  3. Locate and use your LCD TV in a clean, comfortable place. Make sure it is protected against dust, dirt, and even liquid spills as they may cause the product to malfunction in time.
  4. In handling your LCD TV, proper care and caution should be exercised. Vibration, shock, and improper handling may seriously affect the device.
  5. Avoid using sharp, pointed objects near the LCD TV. Its surface is created with a soft film that is easily damaged by scratches.
  6. Make sure that your LCD TV will not fall from an elevated place or will receive a strong shock, because it will definitely get broken as it is made of glass.
  7. IMPORTANT: Have your LCD TV grounded by ESP protection equipment first before direct handling as it composed of several sensitive electronic components.
  8. Use soft gloves while assembling the parts of your LCD TV. Its surface is made of soft file, thus susceptible to scratches and other forms of damages.
  9. Avoid stretching or bending the back light wire of your LCD TV.
  10. Use isopropyl alcohol or hexane when cleaning the surface of your LCD TV. Keytone substances, on the other hand, like Acetone, Ethyl, or Methyl, are not recommended because they can damage the polarizer of the product.
  11. Do not try to disassemble LCD parts by yourself. If needed, call qualified operators and/or technicians to do the job for you.
  12. When you are not using your LCD TV, make sure to turn off the screen first or set a changing screen saver. If it displays just one image for a long period of time, image sticking might happen.
An LCD TV has many advantages. However, if you do not take care of it, you might end up not appreciating the rewards brought by buying an LCD TV.
